Live in flyover land and park your car in a garage at night. You can't eliminate theft but it is a lot less common around here than either coast.

Wow....what the hell is this world coming too? People are seriously stealing exhausts now? A few months ago, catalytic converters were a hot item as many dealerships were finding out that someone was literally cutting them off the car but leaving the rest of the exhaust setup.

There was a thread on miata.net not too long ago about a guy using lug nut lock keys on his exhaust to prevent it from being stolen. I laughed at the time but now it seems like it's the other way around. I'm trying to find the thread and will post it up.

Too much crack heads in downtown LB... and potheads too. Thus why I hate it there.

Sorry to hear about that. That's crazy. Be sure to keep an eye on the for-sale section of the forum (just in case, you never know).

I used to live in downtown Long Beach (at 3rd and Pine) from 2003-2005. Had underground garage parking in my apartment building. The area right by Ocean Ave. is nice. But, if you go just a few block inland, it turns shady really fast.

That really sucks. Your next to Pedro, Meth city. I used to party in the LBC and Pedro area. That place ain't no joke. I'm sure it's not the same as when I used to be there, but I am sure it hasn't gotten any better.

Well I don't live there good thing. I just happened to stay over for the night at her place. With my damn car... I was too lazy to go home. So I learned my lesson. I usually just drive beater car when I go to LB. So part of this is my fault for being lazy and should've gone home. And she is definitely going to move out. Maybe around my area... which is nicer. Especially of her X

Yea, sucks. Sorry it happened to you. Same thing happened to my Acura. They could only get the mufflers because they couldn't reach the cat to unbolt the rest of the piping. When I turned on my car, I was shocked by how loud my exhaust was, only to find my mufflers missing. Parked in San Gabriel.

Yeah, that's my guess too. They probably could not all the way under there. Being my car is also lowered. They only had the chance to take the muffler and not rest of the piping... Time for me to invest for good pager alarm. It seems like normal honking alarm doesn't get people's attention anymore.
