Question CEL due to bent butterfly valve in throttle?

I have never heard of such thing on evom before, but here in Hong Kong, Mitsubishi service, evo owners and some shops all agree that the IX RS sold in Hong Kong is known to have this issue and is very common. The sensor is very sensitive and even the tiniest warp of the flap will trigger CEL and will not disappear. It seems the only solutions are:

1. Live with CEL on
2. Reset the CEL regularly (just disconnect and reconnect battery)
3. Replace the throttle body

Has anyone heard of such thing? Hong Kong IX was sold in 2007 only, although Japan was selling IX MR (9.5, or almost equivilent to IX SE) at this time. I believe it is UKDM version since it has an additional cat in the mid pipe.

I have it on, and so does my friend, its nothing big but it gets annoying everytime I give someone a ride they say it seems like there is something wrong with the car as the yellow icon is on...

I have a test pipe and Mitsubishi service knows I have test pipe so they tested several times and confirmed that it is from the sensor. I know its not the test pipe since I had it for a year without issues, then the light appeared not too long after it started appearing on my friends car. He has a stock exhaust.

I hope someone can enlighten me with a quick fix that won't crush my wallet.

Sounds like a good excuse to buy a Mil.Spec 65mm ported throttle body and send your bad one back as a core.

Thanks I'll see if I can get the code on next service. Yeah it seems aftermarket throttle body is the best option but I just wish there is some simple solution like hammer the flap and throw it back on or something...

I think I'd be more concerned about what Bent the throttle plate.
