A Case for keeping it stock

This is one of the better threads I've seen in a while. For me this car is my daily driver. I need it to get me to work so I can pay for my Evo, my house and all the fun I like to have. I also bought the extended warranty with my Evo. I had no problems with claims with the extended, or factory, warranties on my '97 Eclipse GS-T and I hope that continues with my Evo (yes, I've seen all the warranty threads). That is why I'm keeping it stock. Also, I'm not practiced on working on cars beyond changing oil, plugs and break pads. I'm great at following instructions and I know how to use tools, but I don't want to practice on my brand new car. I understand that some out there want more and are willing to give it a go. I think that's cool and I wish them the best, but right now that's not for me.
I also have the same situation as xphillipjrx, I've only ever seen one other Evo here in Atlanta. That was silver EVO8 a week ago.
Best wishes,

Once you have the mad power that the 4G63 provides, you'll never settle for stock EVER again..
The power it can produce is sickening... You'll know once you mod, or ride in a modded EVO...

Reading this freakin' forum, it's hard not to max out credit cards. Seriously, I'm very satisfied with the performance, and I don't want to jeopardize my warranty either. I'm just set on subtle cosmetic mods like shift knob, pedals, boost gauge, etc.
Now after it's paid off and out of warranty, look out

Yes, the EVO is straight stock. However, as was said by MalibuJack I believe, "I consider every car a starting point. The EVO is the best staring point I have ever owned" or something along those lines. I am on the same train of thought. If I had a Ferrari, my first question would be, ok...who can point in the direction of aftermarket parts for this beast. It's just personal preference really
advatange of leavin the car stock and just moddin the engine will take those modded american cars by surprise or heavily modded civics or watever...
advantage of having a body kit rims new wings etc....is that when it is stock...ppl say: wooo wow
, and with the kit and all...ppl say: GoD DAyaM!@!!

I love the car stock!! I run autocross and to add mods to it will bump it to a higher class. The times with the car in stock are better than those in the street prepared class. I bought the car because of what it came with stock. The only mods that I made are the ones that are legal for the class that I run.
Maybe after the SCCA finally decides were the car is going, then I will look into the different mods and such. But until that time, I'm going to run in stock and see who can catch me!
