About Insurance (pain in ass)
I want to kno about ur insurance n shyt... cuz my insurance (progressive) is costin me almost $400 per month! even i only got 2 speed tickets in past 2 years... i will appericated it, if u guys share some info abt urs or whats the best insurance for evo for cheaper or etc.. I live in connecticut...
I'm 32 and married now, paying 1200/yr full coverage with progressive on my 05' evo.
There isn't one specific company that is "best" for Evos. There are so many factors involved, and just because company ABC has the lowest rates for you with one car doesn't mean they'll have the lowest rates for you with any car.
I'm 26 in Southern California, and the insurance for my Evo is about $82 per month, which includes the following coverages:
Bodily injury liability: $300,000/$500,000
Property damage liability: $100,000
Medical payments: $5,000
Uninsured motorist bodily injury liabiility: $100,000/$300,000
Comprehensive and collison deductibles: $500
Squeaky clean record, part of a plan with other vehicles and drivers.
I work in insurance and do this all day, sometimes quoting Evo owners from the forums. I've had a 24 year-old Evo IX owner get FULL COVERAGE from me with high liability limits for right around $300 per month, though he had a DUI. I really don't get why people are paying so much, unless you're just that young.

I'm 29, in Oregon and pay $130 a month for full coverage on both our cars, a 08 dodge caravan and my 05 evo. not sure how much the evo is out of it since they are on the same policy though. Thats with a $500 deductible on both. we use liberty mutual (no idea where the wife found em)
Unfortunately NJ has the highest insurance premiums in the country
. I would recommend finding an insurance agent you can trust. Mine hooked me up bigtime and he got me all kinds of discounts cutting my insurance price in half. Rite now I am paying around $1,500 a year but I am 27 yrs old. when I was younger i remember paying close to $4,000 a year but I had a terrible driving record back then.
Get use to buddy. I owned cars 2-3 times more expensive than my Evos and no matter what the Evo is the most expensive car to insure. I have great driving record and 20 years experience ( licensed) but the Evo is a biash when it comes to insurance, there is truly no other way around.

Progressive/ 23 years old/ $120 a month/ $250 deductible/ enough coverage to hit a bus at 65mph and everyone is covered haha, that's how they explained it to me. All in the Charleston, SC area.

$400/mo ouch! I'm 26 and had Geico until a month ago. I was paying $283/mo with $1000 deductibles. They dropped me because I got too many tickets (however it has been a little over a year since my last ticket and I've never been in any accidents)...
I shopped around but a lot of places wouldn't quote me online because of my record. The other companies quoted me around the same rate or more than what I was paying with Geico.
So I called the companies that wouldn't quote me online. Some of them still wouldn't quote me and most of the others quoted me at the same rate I was paying with Geico. But when I called Amica, they actually quoted me at $125/mo (with the same coverage that I had before). And they're a JD powers top rated provider. So yeah, you should shop around and call if they won't quote you online.
Also, what were your deductibles set at for the quote? You might want to try adjusting the deductibles and liability amounts to lower the rate.
