When you pull the hvac unit out, you will be able to see what I am explaining. There is a black piece of plastic with that I think is a magnet enclosed in it. When you turn the knob to aim the air, the magnet follows the knob. If you remove this magnet, the hvac unit will not be able to sense where you directing the air. This will "unlock" your a/c unit. Sorry my directions are somewhat vague.

Can anyone else confirm this? I hope it's something as simple as that.

LOL, nope I hate it also. I think everyone does, especially when pulling out from a stop. I normal switch it off before I pull out anywhere. It makes the car bog so bad. I'm sure all the stroker guys will chime in and say they don't have a problem with it.

The reason they do that is that using the AC removes the moisture in the air. And yes you still will have heat coming out of the vents when you do that...

i understand it does that. i'll hit the a/c switch when need be. most of the time i dont like direct heat. i'd rather just heat around me and have less of a load on the engine. E85 isnt free you
