Thats just awesome!

Pics: post #17

Well, here today in central Virginia, Virginia Motorsports park had their opening day test and tune. Ive been working on the car getting a good street tune ready for the track.

First thing this morning, I teched in about 11am. shortly after I staged up and preped myself for the first run in the Evo since i bought the car last spring.

Went around the waterbox, staged the lights.... brought the car up to 5k.... green light, started out on the clutch....

Car lurched 2 feet, BOOM... now with the engine running it emits a horrible sound from trans. press in the clutch it goes away. try to put it in gear and pull forward, HA. I know usually the TC goes first but apparently not in my case. i wonder if i broke the countershaft?

so, tonight or tomorrow trannys coming out
ill try to take some pics of what i find.

1500 miles on an Exedy 4 puck with the heavy duty pressure plate and lightweight flywheel. just put in a 90A AMS front motor mount yesterday. guess it just was too much shock for the tranny.

Oh yea, haha.

Ill pull the TC first 2mro morning but i dont feel like that would be the issue since it makes all that racket just sitting in neutral. at this point tho id like to be saying "well, i at least only blew the TC" haha

well, i know its not an install related issue.

plus i consider it alot easier to drain fluids then pull the TC if need be first than anything else.
im pullin it apart anyway tomorrow, just wondering if anyone else had seen this before.
