I'm not sure I agree with all of their choices, but at least they had the good sense to list the Evo;

Runner up: Nissan Skyline GT-R series. A tough call, but we gave the Evo the nod. We expect serious flames for this. We’ve got our Nomex on.
preaching to the choir here but it really doesn't get much better - 4 doors, trunk space, reliability, 4cyl mpg, turbo power, all weather capability and uncorked very easily - there's no denying the Evo is damn near perfect

Trunk Space - are you kidding...
MPG
reliable - ehe maybe the engine.. but the interior and everything else..
Not bad, I also have one their runner-ups
As for trunk space, mpg and overall room, I'm more than happy.
At a recent track day, I had:
4 wheels
jack
overnight bag
wheel chocks
bicycle pump
large tool bag
small ice chest
torque wrenches
5 liter bottle of oil
1 liter can of brake fluid
and I still had tons of space in the trunk. The wheels were stacked up in the back seat.
22 mpg to the track and 4 mpg on the track
