Finally got around to pulling the timing cover off and just as I thought it was the crankshaft position sensor. Fo some reason the main bolt that bolts into the crank and holds all the pulleys in place started to back of a little bit. This caused all the pulleys to shift a slight bit and the reluctor ring started rubbing against the crank sensor. Also the car threw a P0335 "Crankshaft position sensor circuit A" code. I priced it out online and its around 50$ which isnt too bad. I also have a 2g DSM sensor laying around. Does anyone know by chance if its the same?

Apparently they are the same...well the sensor and plug are anyway, the harness on the DSM one is about 6 inches shorter ...I cut the old sensor off and soldered the dsm one on. The car fired right up.
