the dealership blows your motor and you pay for it...i feel for you. i'd be making more noise at that dealership than a piston blowing a hole in you engine. get some legal advice if all else fails. i mean if you were driving it and didnt blow it how do you know some apprentice didnt abuse it and take it for a thrashing? they have insurance, they should pay pill or no pill.

when you were driving it what boost levels were you hitting? afr's?

When I had my Xede years ago, you were supposed to actually remove the factory pill in the hose that entered the stock boost solenoid. Did the dealership actually check to see if the pill was there and if it was there how could they tell it was modified?

well theres your problem , running higher boost on stock fuel maps.

You can run higher boost on a stock fuel map, so I wouldn't say that was his problem.
At high enough boost levels the car would have started knocking which should have pulled timing.
I just don't understand how they found out abut the boost pill.

Here's the long story. The vishnu xede was installed and tuned by Shiv. After about 2 years of running on that setup I got water in my tank from a local gas station. The gas station paid for the tow and dealership bill to clean out the fuel. After I got the car back it had a studder at high boost. Before taking the car back I decided to have my local tuner remove the xede, but not the boost pill which I didn't know was installed. I took the car back to the dealership and they decided to replace the water pump and then the turbo. After replacing the turbo they ended up blowing a rod. After blowing the rod they did some investigation and saw the boost pill. They still decided to cover my engine under warranty. I got my car back a month later from the dealership and told me that if I had another electronic/boost mod on my car that they would not cover my car. I just wanted to know if the boost pill on a stock tune would cause the the engine to blow up.

Removing the boost pill on the oem map would cause it to blow. The boost pill controls/restricts air flow to the oem boost solenoid.

A modified boost pill (larger diameter) could also cause this because the amount of air passing in the vacuum lines to the boost solenoid would be greater and not appropriate for the oem map.

Glad to hear the dealership worked it out for you. MBC and EBC are warrant for them to void the warranty as they did say.

I'm glad to hear they covered it, I wouldve went postal if my dealership blew up my engine and told me to pay out of pocket.

I am glad to see they covered it but you were lucky because it would have blown up for pretty much the next person who drove it at high boost.

Have they made any progress on your engine yet?

I bet that the headgasket blew under the high boost between the cylinder bore and a coolant jacket, the coolant got into the cylinder and hydrolocked it and BAM connecting rod snapped.. Please let me know if this was the case..

Yeah, i got the car back with the engine fixed. The delearship didnt tell me exactly what caused the rod to blow.
