I don't know what I did but after installing my txs TBE on my evo 8, I decide to take
it for a few test run.
at the 3rd run I pull on about 4k rpm on 1st gear , I hear a loud "CLING" like something blow off.
after that the car would shake if tries to run normal mph on all gears.
The car idles real rough , bogs alot and black smoke blown from tail pipe.
look under the car , everything looks in tacked.

 

Sounds like the symptoms of crank walk...

Check your intercooler pipes,sounds like one may have blown off.

 

I check the intercooler pipe like you said and find that one was blown off loose, too much power I guess .
Reconnect the ic pipe all back to normal. Thanks.

 

Alright, im new to Evo's but not DSM's. Are Evo's even prone to crankwalk like the 7 bolt?

 

Evo's are not prone to crankwalk, I highly doubt that's what it is.

Did you hear the loud clink noise only when you get on it hard or just that one time like something fell off the car? I can't think of any reason just changing the exhaust would cause the car to act like that. The only thing your doing is increasing the flow so it would cause the boost to be higher which means the car would be lean without a tune.

 

It's the LICP....for sure. Happened to me a few times with an old setup.

 

T-bolt clamps FTW!!! I put them on mine and never had another problem...

 

ya LICP blowing off isnt uncommon though but I would've gotten a little nervous at first also.
