CF Hood?

Is there a company that makes a carbon fiber hood with no vents or one that comes with the gutter? I don't want to worry about water getting into my motor.

what dude? you mean the main vent LOL. Thats there for a huge reason to let heat escape kind of need that hommie there are stock cf hoods but not a plain jane hood without vent unless you get a custom made one which will cost you alot more for no reason

rain will not hurt your motor. HEAT WILL. the vent is there for a reason. this is one of the dumbest threads I've seen in a while. if you don't want a vented hood, go buy a civic.

Rain getting into the intake will not hurt the motor? Or when the turbo is hot if rain hits it, it will not crack?

dont hate on the guy for asking a valid question.

there aare no hoods with out a vent that are not custom made. now if you want to go the custom route you may want to consider other forms of cooling things down under the hood. that turbo and exhaust gets hot. mabe some type of cowl cooling ? but its something to consider. as stated above water will not harm your engine unless your submerging it wich would lead to hydro lock.

think of all the evos out there with the vents in the hood if it was a problem mitsu would have changed it. but if your doing it for the look of it thats another story. best of luck with it

the turbo will not crack, it may steam a little but wont crack... a cheap exhaust mani might crack from stress on it though. as far as water in the intake it needs to saturate the filter to the point it is flowing into it, you would need to submerge it or mabe a ridiculous monsoon or something lol.... i dd mine with a cone filter and stock hood no problems .... they do make cover to help keep water out of the filter i believe injen makes them, if your concerned

As others said don't be worried about your engine getting wet from rain/car wash/etc. If your going to wash your car and you have an open element intake filter then I would at least put a plastic bag over it (those weren't there from the factory). That's just me though..

The only problem to be had with the hood vent and rain is the exhaust manifold/manifold studs and nuts rust up pretty nicely.

Mine looks like a piece that was on the Titanic.

The already had the theme going when i bought it with the trunk, spoiler, and pillars so i figured it would look stupid with a stock hood on it again. Thanks for the input about the water.
