2 days right after i sold my sunfire, i looked at a TB8 one (rebuild title so couldnt get a loan for it), WW8 (wife hated white cars), and settled on AS8 (dealer near by advertised on ebay, test drove as they were closing, and bought the next morning)

It took me probably about 3 months before I finally found the one I wanted.

I park it in the same place in the garage every night, which makes it much easier to find each morning.

All joking aside, I waited 2 years casually looking at evo's before I found one that I couldn't say no to.

It took me a year and a half! Mainly because here there aren't many Evos for sale, and the ones that are many of them you'd do well to stay away from. Then last month, I saw an ad in the 'paper for a stock Evo doing 88K Kms. I called the guy, saw the car, got it checked by a mech etc. A weel later she was mine!

Can I ask you why you what is making you want to trade in your Z06 for an evo? I am considering getting a Z06 for my next car win/if I get sick of the evo.

I found my ix within 1-2 months, but I paid a little more than I would have if I had waited out for a good deal, but it was TB like I wanted, low mileage (35k) and stock, and I was anxious to get out of that wrx! I drove 10 hours to get it.
