Battery and Brake Light? 15v running, 12v car off

Both my battery and brake light are on on my dash. My battery reads 12.2-12.5 volts with car off. Sometimes as low as 10.5 cranking, 15.1-15.2 when running.

Any ideas?

That's a little high while running. The voltage regulator in the alternator might be going bad.

Not really except the mini-batteries do put more strain on the alternator and voltage regulator and in theory cause them to wear out sooner.

I'd also like to know why?

I had the alternator rebuilt.. the Rectifier and Regular were shot, but the shop didn't think the smaller battery did it.
