**EDIT - Just read a fuse was/is the culprit...

Same happened to me except it died on me shifting from 1st to 2nd....it turned out to be the balance shaft belt going out and taking the Crank Positioning Sensor with it. I ended up doing an entire timing belt/balance belt replacement along with water pump and the parts that gave out...wasn't cheap but I ended up doing it with a friend and saved a lot of money that way...

Good luck and let us know what the cause was once you figure it all out!!

which fuse is blowing? whatever fuse it is, you can most likely follow that system to the culprit, be it a rubbed wire, ground, or something in the system thats bad. good luck!

you have a grounding issue somewhere , some wire could be pinched and bare wire is touching metal and popping the fuse to that circuit.

i had the same issue, it happened to be the exhaust where the rear o2 sensor was rotated up and rubbing on the heat shield under the car. I know the HKS exhaust is notorious for this issue.

Just a thought, but worth a check

my first thought was that your ignition fuse (20amp) under the hood was blown. i had the same issue with my car last month and that was my issue. it kept blowing everytime i turned the key to the on position. my issue was my o2 sensor wiring. when i extended the wires the shrink tubing that i used melted through and the wires were grounding out to each other. if you have an aftermarket o2 housing you should check your o2 sensor wiring.
