the other day i was told by a guy that his stock turbo was spooling loud and he was told that he has a boost leak... it just soo happens that my turbo spools pretty loud also.. is this a possibility??

 

Do you have a stock intake or aftermarket?

 

i have no stock turbo but my ****z did get loud one time right before the damg intake pipe fell off

check to make sure its on all the way and snugg

 

I have the AEM short ram intake... Spool is louder then a ****ing semi.

 

a boost leak will give you a loud whistle depending where it is

an intake on a stock turbo will also make it louder

 

Agreed, had that happen one time on to 95 GST.

Does it spool when u floor the gas? Mines semms loud when u floor the gas also. But I think it's the intake that makes it louder I'm guessing.

 

mine actually spooled loud even with the stock airbox... after i put my ets intake it got louder...

 

mine is pretty loud, but it holds boost...

 

I had tons of boost leaks when I first got my Evo, it was more of a woooosh sound that a whistle. All of my leaks are sealed up now and the turbo spool sounds awesome (I have a buschur intake pipe) and it sounds so much healthier than when I first got the car.

 

Check shaft endplay?

 

Just perform a boostleak test for peace of mind

 

intake does a lot to make it louder

i love my perrin

 

When i got the Perrin installed...it sounded like i could pull in all the trash on the street.
