LancerFreak311 is back! Lookin at buyin an Evo (finally)
Whats up again everyone, my time has come to pick up an Evo I believe. I will have a clean MVR as of June 6, so the wife and I cant think of a better way to celebrate than to buy an Evolution.
Im lookin at a '03. I've looked around and read reviews over and over again to make my decision, but I feel pretty content having a '03, anything any of you '03 guys encounter that I should be aware of?
Again, nice to be back, hope I become a frequent poster again. I've missed this place.

Just to clear up this vague statement - many of the 03 and 04s have single stage paint instead of color then clearcoat. If not properly maintained, single stage paint will fade/oxidize due to sun damage. Clearcoat paint is just a little easier to keep up.
Someone on here said once, "Evo's don't break until the owners break them" -- which is fairly true

Thatd be awesome!
Good luck with your hunt to find a clean evo! And based on what I read, I am wondering how long it will take you to get another speeding ticket in a car that is always begging to be opened up?
personally, i'd look for an 05 8 or 06 IX. the 05-06 models have an LSD up front, ACD, more power, and are more mod friendly than the 03-04's. 03-04's have an open diff up front, no ACD, and like someone mentioned, the paint wasn't as good. If the car is well maintained, reliability shouldn't be an issue. the only issue i'd have with it are the things i listed because they simply aren't available on the car.
good luck!
good luck!
