Do it yourself and save half the money. most vendors sell the timing kit for 400ish

do the job yourself saves you LOTS OF $$$...and if u wanna save even more $$$ inspect your water pump once u get the cover off...if its not leaking then i wouldn't replace it...if it aint broke then dont fix it

It's called preventive maintenance. You don't want it to start leaking after you do a timing belt and have coolant everywhere and have to redo the timing belt just to change out the pump.

Other than elbow grease, tools, and the desire to do it right, this is everything you need:

You could also get the same kit from RussellM on here slightly cheaper and have him ship it to your door. Tell him I sent you. He takes good care of the Evo Community.

Worst advice I have heard in a while. The water pumps are only really tested to last 60,000 miles, any longer and you are really on borrowed time. So what happens when you get it to last a little longer and then it does fail? You have to spend even more money to rip it all up again and then spend the money to replace it. That is if you don't overheat the motor before then due to the failure, then the bill will be 10x the cost.

Do it right the first time.

Yup, same kit basically but you got it from RusselM, he has taken very good care of people including me and you so I bring business to him whenever I can. Plus you are getting the extra special jmelocik install assist package! LOL What time do you want to start on this? PM me so we don't take this thread off topic.

To the OP, if you are taking everything off to do the timing belt the right way, just replace the water pump while you are in there. If you don't you will be kicking yourself later on.
