Timing Belt

Does anyone know why the timing belt needs to be replaced at 60k miles for a evo?
Almost all other cars are serviced at 100k.

Most likely a combination of different factors...heat, stress, etc. Back in the old days even Honda recommended a 65K interval for belts. My take is that it's cheap insurance.
