My VIII is down with a blown motor!
I would really like to do this myself, but I don't have a garage and I don't feel comfortable leaving this in my driveway in pieces for weeks.
I bought a $1400 99 Nissan Pathfinder and I've contacted Ivey for some pricing. I'm still leaning towards a 2.4/FP black setup for the near future...

Update: I decided to go with an FP Black/2.4L Build. For the last 4 months I have been gathering parts:

Without the transfer case, FMIC, and wideband all of this cost me about 15,000 just for the parts. Many misc parts I purchased were used too. $4000 was on the motor stuff, $1700 on the headwork, $1800 on the FP Black and kit, $2000 on the trans work, $500 on the exhaust manifold, $500 on the Double pumper, $500 on cams, $700 for a used QM clutch kit, $400 for injectors, $300 for an oem oil cooler, and $300 for a Mil.Spec TB just to name some big items off the top of my head. I have a complete spreadsheet put together if anyone is interested in why a 2.4 build can be so costly. I was told I can do it for 8K, but I figured I wanted to do a lot of other things correctly while I'm at it.
