So i figured i'd share this with a couple of you guys on here cause i killed myself laughing at this lol.

to give kind of a background i live in Canada, in a mid size town in New Brunswick (probably population of about 30-40 thousand). When The Evo 8's and 9's were new, they were not allowed to be imported to canada due to front crash test. Long story short, some people STILL think they're illegal here, even though its been ok to import for over a year.

So afterwork the other day i went through the drivethru to grab a bite to eat before heading to the garage for the night. So im about to pull out onto the road to the Road to the left and when i look at the lights, they just turn green theres an Evo X sittin there coming my way. so i turn to the Right and go the same direction he's going.

So at the next set of lights that turn Red, this guy in the Evo X pulls up next to the car unusually slow, and looking my 9 up and down as if it was from outter space. I put down my passenger side window and say to him "hey i like your Evo!". He replies with "umm yeah... yours too... ahh is it a Real one???" so i said " ah yeah?" Right then the Light turned green and i drove away lol. Dumb founded by this he sat at the lights for a good 5 seconds watching me drive away.

Believe it or not i get this all the time. Then again in a small town it doesnt stick out much when its parked beside STi S14 silvia Celica GT4 WRC and Pulsar GTIR lol


anywho just wanted to share my funny of the day lol.

lol.. it is funny... I get something similar because Evo's are rare up here too.. People don't know what the car is and the car is debadged as well. My neighbor thought the car was all rice(because of the wing) until i gave him a ride in it...

 

i wish i can get the celica gt4 man. 3sgte dreams

I live the the hood that is North Philadelphia, and am fairly suprised when people recognize the car. Believe me when I say this, the only thing that gets respected in my neighborhood is anything rolling dub+, and huge huge subs in the trunk.

Same sort of thing happens here in Gatineau, I know of only 4 Evo VIII's or IX's in the Ottawa/Gatineau region, so chumps in their hatchback civics tend to stare quite a bit

 

So since the ban as been lifted for a year or so, have you seen much evo 8's and 9's in CANADA?

Some guy thought my 8 RS wasnt an evo cause it had no wing!!! He asked how I was able to put a evo hood on my lancer, my response "100lbs of bondo!"

 

They're gradually getting imported by some, most of them are on the West coast I think.

 

just for an idea.. im from Rimouski, Qc and i hve the single IX in the town... there is like 2 other VIII, so i evo are not so rare here ! :P
