Well, I've been shopping for an Evo now for weeks and I found one that seems really good. However, when I asked about his mods, he stated that he had nothing except a vortex generator and a shorty antenna, but his ad also stated that there was a turbo timer installed. His response was that it came on the Evo IX SE as stock equipment. Is this bs? I've tried searching on the forum and Googling, but nothing has come up. Thanks!

yeah it's probably not factory, i don't even know what an oem turbo timer would look like. the only reasoning i can see behind this is if he purchased the car used from the dealer w/ the turbo timer

 

Yeah, no evo's ever came with Turbo Timer, most likely just a installation done by the dealership. You should ask and be clarified, he probably wasn't thinking much about telling you the details.

 

carfax - maybe he is not the original owner. And too him the car is all stock.

 

there were dealerships that offered turbo timers as a dealer installed option. this might be one of those cars.

 

HMMM what else is he not telling you??

 

Assume most used Evo's have been molested even if they look stock.
