I've been around many Walbro pumps and they all sounds a little different. Some whine alot and some don't.

I would rather put a X pump in my older Evo too if I needed to flow more fuel. Just depends on how many LPH you need for your car.

Question

I was using the JDM ASA prog and noticed that the part number for the JDM EVO X fuel pump is different from the USDM.
The JDM part number is 1770A116, filter kit, fuel in tank. I wonder if it flows more than a US pump? Anyone willing to import it and flow test it? I may order one in the future and try it out.

i like this idea alot and am curious to see if that's true! being that japan has higher octane gas, and the X maf is 3" as opposed to 2.5", more air more fuel... right?

I can faintly hear my fuel pump whining. It's usually drowned out from the exhaust and/or radio.

Bumping this old thread. Has anyone successfully installed a X pump on their 8 or 9?
