Sell or not
Sell or not
Hi guys
I have bought Evo IX '06 GSR 3 years ago, in '08 I make stageII, now i have 50k kilometers on it. I am really happy to drive it! But sometimes I am thinking about Evo X SST or maybe Subaru GDB/GRB from '07
What do you think, change or not?
Please advice me
Thanks!

Cheaper to go faster in a Evo....most Evo owners regret selling esp. after going to an STi. There is a few threads from owners who've owned both (Came from an Sti or owned and Evo, went to a STi then went back to an Evo).
The SST trans has some horsepower limitations if I'm not mistaken. Keep your car.

I say keep what you have, but that's all personal preference. What are you looking for in a car?

I wouldn't bother changing for the STi unless you get the newer model GRB. The GDBs will be very similar to your EVO. The steering and handling isn't quite as sharp, but you gain a little low end power with the bigger motor and smaller turbo.
The EVO X and GRB are much different than the previous versions of each. The both have improved interiors, though nothing special, and a better ride and handling balance. I think the new EVO and STi are closer to a BMW in ride than the rough and rawness of the previous models. When I bought my GRB, I spent quite a bit of time in the X and really liked it. It is still a better handling car than my STi, but I like the practicality of the hatch. It's also a little less boy racer looking and that appeals to me as well. When you're doing basic bolt-ons, the performance gains and cost are similar, but if you want big power, the EVO will be much easier and cheaper.
The bottom line is go drive both and see what you think. I wouldn't bother driving a GDB because it won't be "better" than what you have.

I bet you are having a hard time finding a better car than an evo IX. There are certainly cars better at certain things. But if the 'things' that made you first buy the IX were awd + performance + small car agility, than short of entering another genre of sports car there really isnt a clearly superior car.

like everyones saying, its all what you want, raw "feel the road and power" stay evo IX. the new sti is a very nice car, my friend has one, but its too refined for me, the evoX i cant say anything about because i have hardly seen one in person let alone ride in one or drive one.
