New JDM rear bumper hits exhaust... please help!

i just got my new jdm rear bumper in from driveline motoring. Got the old bumper and crash beam pulled off, new demonwerkz crash beam installed and went to install the bumper and it hits my exhaust. not just a little bit either. It holds my bumper out a couple inches where i cant get any of the bolt holes to line up. I have a HKS Hi-Power Exhaust with the tilted tip. Has anyone had this problem before? If so what did you have to do? Any advice would help... Thanks

Rear crash bar must be removed on the JDM rear kit.

drop the hanger a few inches inder the rear end. There should be a few bolt holes there. No biggy.

I don't understand the problem but I assume that since the JDM rear is shorter you have to tuck your exhaust to fit. You are going to have to cut the pipe shorter. Is that your problem?

don't cut the pipe just lower you exhaust... If you can't do it any muffler shop can get it for like 20 beans...

I agree with everybody else. I have a HKS Carbon-Ti catback, and recently installed my JDM rear. I had to get the exhaust lowered to clear the bumper , for temporary use I unbolted the only exhaust hanger that is bolt to the rear mustache bar and angled the exhaust as much as I could until it didn't touch the exhaust as much .

what you should do is get the exhaust shortened to fit. don't just lower it. the exhaust is too long because it's made for the US bumper. you can get a JDM spec exhaust, or go to a muffler shop and have them do it RIGHT and cut the pipe to shorten the exhaust. I had about 2.5" taken out of my exhaust pipe.

the other option (the one I used before having time to take it to a shop) was to trim the bumper so the exhaust would fit. I used a dremel and trimmed some off the inside of the bumper. can't see it unless you're under the car, and even then it's barely noticeable.

Funny how I just had the same problem with the same exhaust and bumper. With the USDM bumper the exhaust is closer to the right of the bumper.
But on the JDM bumper, it is all the way to the left and because the diffuser is tucked in and the bumper shorter the muffler is literally pushing the bumper out a couple inches. Took it to my muffler shop and cut a slit on one bend (I think the last one) bent a little bit and re-welded.
Now the fit is perfect. Only problem is the bumper seems a little limp/loose in the bottom/middle. Is there a bracket that should hold it in place?
