Same reply submitted at the same time by two 9 SE owners from NJ! What a coincidence

OP, check the starter after checking the battery.

battery is easier to check first and usually is the issue. just take it to autozone. if its ok then take the starter to autozone lol.

and yea that was interesting to battery replies from NJ lol. i am in FL now for school. where in NJ are you?

A ticking and/or clicking sound at start up usually means a battery that is drained or a dead starter.

I would check the battery first (faster and easier to check) and then check the starter.... either way... I would also check the charging system to ensure it is healthy. It happened to me once and it turned out to be that I left one of the internal lights on overnight.

you can also check a starter by having someone tap it kinda hard with a rubber hammer as you turn the key. for those of us to lazy to do it the right way
