Get it appraised and insured for a higher value. My company is cool they let you set the value with appraisal. You pay a bit more, but it's peace of mind.

There is no 100 percent fool proof way. The chip can be bypassed by a simple ECU switch. If they want to get around a boot, they jack it up and put the wheels on some sort of roller. Same thing with steering wheel locks. If they want your car, they will get your car.

Evos are getting stolen left and right. Alarms help if it is in a pretty public place. Best bet is a combination of garaging it with a 2 way pager alarm, motion sensors, motion lights, cameras, some sort of way to immobilize the car physically (boot, fuel switch).

This spring, after a grim winter, it was car detailing time. All waxed and shiny I stopped on the Honda lot to look at a car. The salesman who came out only wanted to talk about my car. In the next lot as I drove through the salespeople ran out and flagged me down so they could look. At the gas station other car owners came over and wanted to talk.

A week later, after some rainy weather and dirt road driving, nobody could even see my car. I left it dirty and I haven't had a comment since.

So, for an anti theft device, I suggest a dirty car.

easiest way is just to pull the EGI fuse.... that will stop the car from going anywhere.. takes 10 seconds and slips in your pocket! and...and ...and... its FREE!!!!!! lol.... but that will just stop em from starting it and driving off

I have a 98 GST and a 93 Civic SI. Both have kill switches and the kill switch has actually saved my civic from being stolen once out in chicago.

Honestly if you can hide it and use a small enough switch (use a relay and cut power to the ECU) no one should be able to jack it... unless your that retard that tried to back into my drive way with a tow truck. Thank god my dad was there to stop the mother f*cker!

like 4g63moon said, a good alarm will also help.

thanks for all the replies. I guess im just gonna get a really good alarm and maybe a clutch club. Im not worried about the car sitting at my house as it is behind a big wooden gate right next to my bedroom being watched by a video camera that goes directly to my tv.. i am just worried about when i leave it sitting in the parking lot for 3 hours at school or in the parking lot at work for 9 hours. They are both areas heavily populated with people.

Kill switches are a good idea, but they don't stop tow trucks
