Evo owners in queens beware of thieves. !!!warning!!!!

Hi. Last tuesday night my tb 03 Evo got stolen from not even half a block from my house I found it yesterday sad to see what I found. I didnt have theft coverage cuz at the time. Was extremly too much money the car got stolen in the flushing area. And was dumped by maurice area by maspeth the reason why I said beware is because the. Vehicle. Shows no sign of breaking into it. The ignition switch is intact. So the car actually was. Opened with a "key". I did some research. And it turns out that if u have access to a person that has no morals. Nor does that person cares about other ppls property the will cut them a key at the mitsu. Dealership So Evo owners do yourselves the favor. Put theft coverage on it. Get a tracking device for. It. Pay the monthly fee. And get u. An good alarm system. Don't let whAt happen to me happen to u. Always. Loved evos. And. Always will. Grew up dreaming about them. Had one and got taken from me. And completely destroyed it. And. Dumped near. A park. Thanks. .......

For the first time ever, I have seen someone use too many punctuations. This is a first.

Second, I don't doubt what you just said but with owning such an easily targeted car, why couldn't you afford the extra coverage? You're driving around in a car that is still worth $15k give or take. That's just insanity.

^^ Haha I was thinking the same thing about the punctuation.

My cousin lived in Queens... I wouldn't even think twice about getting more insurance. I hope it works out for you.

cant they check at Mitsubishi HQ who access your key file last? I'm pretty sure they log those just in case something like this happens. Are you the first owner? If not your previous owners could be a suspect as well. good luck hope everything works out for you

Just what I needed to hear moving back to NY. Thought the Evo would be safe, but I guess not.

Sorry for what happened to you brother, but hopefully I can find indoor parking for my car

Damn, that sucks. My buddy works auto crime in Brooklyn. He highly recommends a lo-jack. That way you get your car back quickly, hopefully.

Good luck to you and your car.

Hmmm, Now I'm going to ask for pictures.... No one in their right mind would swap suspension. Put it on stands(blocks) and take everything. To replace suspension, that just doesn't sound right.

I'll have my buddy look this up. They also left the body panels on the car knowing that they are worth over$2,000 on the street? You are lucky.

Sounds like it might look like this one:

Layer security best advice. I came from Honda land so I know all about worrying if your car is still going to be there in the am or when you come out of the store.

Now with the ECU mods anyone with a spare ECU and some know how can drive a car away easily.

Layer security and you may have a vandalized car but it'll still be there in the am.

Unless you had a flatbed or just hooked a chain to my car and pulled. You aren't driving it away

Ehh.....I think Lo Jacks are a little overpriced and do you really trust the police to try to recover your vehicle? I used to be a Lo Jack tech, so I can say that. My opinion is that you are better off with a good 2-way pager alarm and a tracking device. Omega makes a good tracking device. http://www.omegagps.com/ I know there is others out there too.
