This was my friends car,, and coming from driving hondas I thought that evos wouldnt be as high theft cars, but after his car was stolen I started looking for more security for.my car..

 

I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune. The thing with Evos is that they ideally should be garaged but I know that not everyone has access to one. I too don't really trust Flushing too much...too many shady characters there.

 

I think maspeth is one of the better areas, hia car got stolen in flushing. But anywhere in NYC you should always have your car garaged if youre putting your hard earned cash into it.

 

Maspeth is a bit better but Ive still seen a few gutted cars like 2 civics and an evo but in 2005 there where like 7 cars set on fire and it always seems to happen down by the factory's. but I haven't heard of any gutted cars in like 5 months over here.

That seems to be a area for dumping cars but I lived in maspeth for 3 yearsand thankfully I never had any issues with my car. In other parts of queens, you leave the car out two nights in a row and its gone.

 

invest in a decent alarm that has a anti car jacking system. it will let them drive alittle then lock them in and the alarm will go off.. in NY it will definitely get the polices attention quick

Clifford still makes alarms. I remember when they were the defacto choice until Viper ramped up the marketing.

 

ya my car had one when i bought it.. great alarm. ive owned viper alarms also. both are made by DEI so both are quality.

 

This is really messed up it makes me not want this car anymore to be honest with you.

 

Did you take any pics? I've never worried of having my car stolen and chopped, but then again I've never had a highly desirable car.
