Chop Shop found in Plantation, FL

I have an on going investigation into an attempted theft of my Evo from a few months ago and I check in periodically to see how thing are progressing and found out some good information today.

BSO found a chop shop full of Evos out in Plantation, FL and probably some other cars as well.

They are emailing me a list of people who have been arrested in connection with this and some other information to review to see if it is anyone that I know personally or know of.

If you know someone who has gotten their Evo stolen, or had an attempted theft get in touch with me as they may be connected and I can provide you with more information.

This is making me very nervous about moving to Miami. Any anti theft precautions?

Well i will be living in a gated community with my mother in law for a little bit but our followup home will have to be gated and it will have to have a garage for my car and bike. Too many logistics in moving

Yea I have a few things no but I won disclose them for obvious reasons...

Gated communities really don't mean anything because the security is gettin in not when you leave so they can just walk in jack the car and drive it out without issue... Look into anti theft measures and don't tell anyone what they are

Easier said than done if your stuck in a lease as I am and the garaged solution would be renting a public storage space which is money each month and a pain to have to go get it just to drive it.

I shed a tear when they showed the "Evo Parts Graveyard". This sickens me.

So the Detective finally called me back today.

He told me that unfortunately other departments dont like to speak with each other about certain investigations so he has been unable to get me information about the mentioned Plantation, FL chop shop that they found.

He did however give me information about the Deerfield Beach chop shop that Delano Carlos Henry was arrested for.

Out of all the cars they found he said 4 of them were Evos and tons of parts from others so in addition to the charges he has now for each part from a different vehicle he is going to be brought up on more individual charges. They also found a .45 caliber gun hidden that the guy was probably carrying when stealing the cars.

Charges so far are:

OWN OPERATE CONDUCT OR AID AND ABET CHOP SHOP
GRAND THEFT /AUTO
VIOLATE RESTRICTIONS PLACED ON DRIVERS LICENSE
PROBATION VIOLATION OR COMMUNITY CONTROL/FEL/MISD

This is the second time that he has been arrested for running a chop shop in Florida and a second person has been named but it is not in the report that he has.

He also said that since the arrest of this kid Lancer thefts have dropped dramatically.

One thing I will note that has nothing to do with Lancers but is important for people who know someone with the type of vehicle is that Ford F250 thefts have been rampant recently and multiple departments are working to bring it to a halt.

Apparently they can start the trucks with a screwdriver and a pair of pliers so if you know anyone give them a heads up.

The Detective said in all of his 14 years of law enforcement he has never seen a car get stolen that actually used The Club and it is a really good theft deterant.

I would suggest getting a detachable steering wheel, putting some sort of kill switch in and an alarm if you are worried about your baby!

Most of this is public info on the web, all you have to do is search it. If anyone finds out who the accomplice is post it up!

So I have been following this case and this kid has for the 2nd time hired counsel that is going to be defending him for the 2nd time on the same charge. Going through public records I discovered that this is the 3rd time since 2005 that he has been arrested on charges of grand theft and for one reason or another the charges located on this page

http://www.clerk-17th-flcourts.org/C...ype=&CaseType=

Show that this round of charges may have already been reduced to a 3rd degree felony and the individual charges have been consolidated and also dont show the firearm possession which I might add is the second time he has been charged with it as a felon...

Absolutely ridiculous if you ask me, he either has one damn good lawyer or the police did a really horrible job of making a solid case against him... It will be interesting to see where this goes on August 18th, 2012 which is his next scheduled hearing date.

On a side note, the finger prints on my car finally got assigned on 5/9/2012 and they said to give it a few weeks so I have to give them a call to find out if it was the same kid if I find out that it was guess who is going to be in court that day to put his .02 cents in about this kid and pushing for a stiffer sentence, ME!
