What to do?

Hello all, I am wondering how I should go about doing this, I have bought quite a few parts for my car and would like to know if I am better off installing most of them and limp it to the tuners or should I just have the shop install them then tune it because I am trying to save myself a couple of bucks. Here are the mods

Installed already- untuned
prosport gauges-boost, wb02, oil pressure.
ETS intake kit
MAP o2 dump dp and ETS dp back exhaust
spoolinup cop
act xtss clutch- no problems whatsoever with it!

Parts waiting to be installed when I get home in 3mo.
Fp red 84mm, 18psi actuator
MAP ported/coated exhaust mani.
MAP rev2 intake mani./Mil.spec 65mm tb.
gsc s2 cams and springs
hallman pro boost controller
Buschur race fmic and lower piping.

should I install the turbo, manifold, intake manifold, tb, fmic and boost controller and just limp it there on wg pressure or should I really just have the shop install them? also I am thinking of going to top speed in GA, any one have any experience with them??

Yes me and my buddy are semi-mechanically inclined, also there are a ton of HOW-TO's on all of them the only thing I wouldnt do is the cams and springs.
Also I forgot to mention I already have wally 255hp fuel pump and I have fic 850cc injectors waiting.

You can install everything you mentioned and be completely fine until you get it tuned at the shop except the s2 cams, injectors and maybe the fp red turbo. Also, just make sure that the boost controller is turned to stock boost pressure. If you decide to install the turbo, just make sure that it is running at stock boost pressure as well. Great choice of mods btw!

Any of the mods that only effect the airflow, such as bigger intercooler piping or wider exhaust piping will give you no problems without a tune, however, it is only when you get the car tuned with those parts is when they make a real difference. The parts that change the behavior of the engine are the ones that you don't want to take chances with for even a second without a tune. You should be able to drive to either of those places and be mechanically sound as long as you don't install the injectors, cams/springs, and possibly turbo, but check around you might be able to install the turbo.

as mentioned install the simple things like the boostcontroller & the fmic. turbo, injectors cams are simple unbolt re-bolt with new parts but the car will not run because of the ECU program.
you have a few ways of handling it

1- mail your ecu out to be tuned telling the company what you have/plan to install. that should be good to get you to the shop if you want to dyno & tweak the tune a little more

2- install the parts & flatbed your car to the shop

3- drive to the shop & have them install & tune the parts

it all comes down to: money, is the evo your daily driver, how soon you want the parts in the car.

good luck its always a hard choice

Time or Money you always have to pay

yea those are all options but I just wanted to see what I could get away with safely and still save a few bucks. I was originally going to go with an email tune I already have the tactrix cable and ecuflash program but id much rather have it dyno tuned then fine tune it on the streets.

i would much rather have a road tune than dyno tune imo, then it sees real world conditions

it also depends how you "limp" there. if you start driving it (more ignition advance, high boost), it might detonate because it may be too lean and eco won't compensate.

if you can, log it to see knocksums. if you don't have any, drive it to the tuner...
