Metal shavings....

A few weeks ago, me and my buddy were changing out my drivetrain fluids and replacing them with Redline fluids. Well, after draining the fluids, we saw that the drain plug for the transfer case had some metal shavings on it. Now, I wasn't really worried at the time, but is this a big deal? I'll try to get an in-car video soon because I'm not sure if the T-case is whining or not. Also, the rear differential had shavings as well. The car is 2006 Evo IX SE with 58,200 on the clock, and I bought it roughly 2 months ago.

When you drained the fluid did the fluid seem shiny/silvery? ^^ is right some metal shavings is normal. There is a reason why they have a megnet on the drain plug, slight metal shavings will stick to it rather than it spinning in your gears.

Actually, the fluid was pretty dark, and the metal shavings were sticking to the drain plug, so I would assume the drain plug did its job

Metal in the diff/transfer is normal all cars have little resude even on auto trans, if it were sliver and shiny fluid coming out you have problems. But other then the magnet doing its job
