honestly its kind of a common sense that physically being there and doing something is a lot better than over some email or over the phone. I know actually a few guys whose ecu reflashing tune ruined their car, because they send their ecu to get reflashed and the tuner that reflashed copied over someone elses tune since the set up was the same, BUT not all cars react the same so their cars went kaboom. But to each its own if you know what you doing and you like the email tune than do it that way, but if you have no idea about tunning i say take it to a tuner

I agree the tuner being there is much better but sometimes he can't so an email tune from him is the next best thing. I know, having it on a dyno is the BEST way to tune a car and only way. I guess the top dogs are all f***ed up when they are tuning their cars at the track.

Like I said before I want to see proof, it's not what you think it's what you can prove.

I cant prove this considering i never wasted my money on an email tune.... but if you think an email tune is/could be better then you need to do some reading

i mean for an email tune they can really even test it, they just mess with the stuff and send it back cause its not in a a car. then you get it and hope its right. so you could get a bad tune back or a tune thats not even agressive... now a good tuner will be able to get it close, but not everyone is a good tuner. pretty much anyone with a laptop and a tatrix cable is a evo tuner now a days. you got to be careful.

Go with Mellon if you are looking for an email tune. He's one of the best.

You guys stating that email tuning is trash do realize this isn't a one map and done thing right? Car is logged, tweaked, logge, tweaked, etc... Untill everything is 100%.

Do I think that this is the best route for everyone HELL NO. As people with no mechanical know howm that are not familiar with these cars will not be able to spot if something is going wrong or if the car is not acting and responding to the tuning as it should. Not to mention pre tune inspection plugs, boost leak testing, etc...

I do a lot of the tuning myself anymore but def bounce my logs past Tamer to get things smooth and some insight if I hit a trouble spot etc...

To me I would never waste my time or money with dyno tuning to be honest. My tuning is done on the street where the car lives and breaths. Plus my tune is tweked a few times a year to allow for weather changes and mods.

If youve "never wasted your money on an email tune" then why say they are no good. You obviously dont know the process of how one is done, like mentioned before, say that to Mellon that he doesnt know what hes doing.

An email tune can be just as good as taking it to a "shop" provided the tuner wants to put the time into it and the customer has the proper metering equipment. It just takes a long time with the emails going going back and forth and all. It's a lot quicker taking it to a reputable shop. Notice I said, reputable.
No matter how you slice it, it's still the same data being read from the car.

I have only done email tune. Seeing that Jestr is in Orlando....

But yes, if you can get to a tuner, do it.

Emails, logs, back and fourth take time.especially when your tuner is on vacation, lol.

I agree with the guys that having a tuner next to the car makes it so much quicker to tune

If you're looking for a cheap quick and dirty tune, that's not us, we go the extra mile to give our customers THE BEST tune you can buy.

i think what joe is referring to is:

here spend $XXX on a tune. It is from a car with your exact mod list. Flash your car. You're finished here. Clearly I will give him the benefit of the doubt on this one lol..

OP ask for people who have done an email tune before, not from those who have "opinions" about them. You said yourself you have never "wasted your money" on one so your input is not needed. Great to get your post count up but thats not the question here.
