03-04 Evo Awd Systems compared to the 05-06 ACD awd systems?

Sorry, I've tried searching for the answer already, but it seems that no one has really posted or asked this question. I was just curious if there were any other differences between the 03-04 awd systems compared to the 05-06 awd systems besides the ACD.

thanks!

Active Differentials: A relatively new technology is the electronically-controlled 'active differential'. An electronic control unit (ECU) uses inputs from multiple sensors, including yaw rate, steering input angle, and lateral acceleration – and adjusts the distribution of torque to compensate for undesirable handling behaviours like understeer.

HAHAHAH just took this from wikipedia!

Well, those differences you pointed out (one not having ACD and the other having ACD) is a pretty big difference in itself. The '03-'04 AWD system has a viscous center differential while the '05-'06 AWD system with the ACD is a bit more complicated with a hydraulic multi-plate clutch sending torque forward or back.

That stuff aside, the ACD is supposed to react more quickly than the older differential, while now giving the driver the three modes (tarmac, gravel and snow).

However, will the average person notice the difference? Probably not.

I believe the later models had limited slip front while the earlier ones did not. I believe the acd works by adjusting the time it takes to redistribute torque from the front to rear.
