evo 8 MR is nice, but evo 9 is more worth it, if you can try looking for a GSR or something, the turbos are better and overall just better imo... both cars are nice but for what it's worth, go for the 9!

I would go with the RS but I believe it also lacks abs which may be something to consider, but I do believe all USDM RS's do have AC while the ones not stateside dont. Not 100% sure though on the AC...

Evo IX = more power, less mods

Though an RS isn't as light as you make it seem, OP. You can always get the VIII and just strip it down.

Another Evo leaving the US.....Between people crashing them and people buying them and having them imported to another country, there will only be a few 100 Evos left in the US lmao.....For the money I would go for the MR, but then again i dont like the MR or the RS. Im all about function and looks. I have to have a Sun roof and power, widows etc....Do yourself a Fav and get a Evo that has it all that way it will save you some time and possibly some money. If you are worried about weight, just remember this...For ever 100 lbs you ruffly only lose 10 HP. I run mine at the track all the time and ive got every option the Evo can have and it runs great. BTW the MRs 6 Speed Trans is weaker then the 5 speed...just a heads up.

No disrespect to the MR but why does everyone think it's the best EVO trim??
Change out the suspension and u gotta 6spd GSR with HIDs.
I dunno just sayin.. Ppl always come up mine and are like "man is this a MR!?!" and I respond "no, it's a GSR" and there like "oh" and walk away.. Lol!

Can't forget the aluminum roof! But yeah it annoys the **** out of me when people who don't own an Evo try to tell me there's a big difference between a GSR and MR in terms of power and parts.

evo ix rs is less comfortable, more noisy, less equipment and seems like a cheap car..but it is THE perfect evo for modding and making a beast out of it. evo 8 mr is a far better choice for you if you want a daily and only track 5 times a year..

overall I would suggest a IX no doubt, but given your circumstances get an 8. in any case its important to know the condition each one is in and the prices, but if the 8 is good amount cheaper and is well taken care of, its a safe buy!
