EVO 8 or EVO 9?

Hi everybody,

I am currently looking to purchase a new Evo! Hesitate
between a 2005 MR or simply a IX RS ...

I like the MR for his Bilstein suspension and his 6 speeds transm. but the Evo IX RS is a simple and very light car!

I never had the chance to try IX RS so I ask your
review!!!

For your information, this car will be my daily driver and I made the track about 5 times a year!

Evo 8 MR or the Evo 9 RS?

If I had the choice I'd get the RS. But as a DD know that RS is a little more noisey on the road. Not much but a little.

Plus no PW/PDL/Radio/Trunk lining/ABS.

Most of which can be added. My ex GF has an 04 RS. I added PDL/Alarm and a radio to it for her

It pretty much up to you. You already know the differences, so what suites you best?

If it was me I would go with the RS.

i have had my 2006 IX RS for a daily driver 3 years running now. its alittle noisy at first but you become acclaimated to it. personally i think it has a much cleaner look without the spoiler and the lightness of it starts to add up once you start putting on aftermarket exhaust, lightweight battery etc.. like everyone else said it's really up to you what you want as a daily driver. just trying to give my two cents but honestly you can't beat a evo 9.

If I chose the RS I will also add a radio. But I think the RS
has no speaker! All wires are present?

I'd do the RS too! Simple and clean the only thing i wouldn't like about it is no automatic windws. Comingfrom a 1990 240sx owner with no power windows i never want to go back lol!

I would get the MR if the price/mileage ratio is about the same. It would be nice to have the 5-speed of the 9, and MIVEC / Front bumper, but the creature comforts of the 8 will be much appreciated, especially in a DD. Sure you save some weight without them, but you can easily compensate for the extra weight.

this is a hard choice! I want to be sure because is very expensive to import Evo in Canada. I think if I can find a 9 RS in my price I will go for it...

Evo 8 MR or the Evo 9 RS?

if you find a decent IX RS, then its no question , out of the CT9A chassis the Evo IX is the best out there. Period.
But since you are not the hard core or even semi racer as you suggested and probably you will leave it stock , i would pick in your case the VIII MR. Between the two.

What ever you choose, just stick with a 5 speed.
