F'ed up my cam

F'ed up my cam

hey guys so i pretty much over tightened my intake cam and well the cam caps are scratched and the cam makes a nasty noise.

my question is do our cars have cam bearings and where can i get them cause i need a set. thanks!

no bearings on 8/9's. you would need to pull head and have the caps recut

No bearings on the cam caps, or in the head side. Looks like your going to have to pull the head like said above. Get yourself a torque wrench.

This. You have to be very careful when torquing bolts down in the internals of the engine. One failure either too loose or too tight can be a real headache. You have to pull the caps and check the condition, if they look pretty beat up, have to get them machined or look for someone with a trashed head that has some caps for sale. That might be the cheaper and faster option, but you have to dig to find someone...

ssq: no thank you. i have my stock ones. i had hks 272s in it and thats what i ****ed up (yeah.. i know im a dumb ***). thanks though man.
