No Spark!? CPS bad?

so i started my car the other morning and drove about 5ft out of the drive way and the car turned off. it wouldnt start back up so i tried to push start it... still didnt start.
yesterday i trouble shot it and found Fuse #1 under the steering column blown. replaced it but still no start.
i can smell gas when it cranks... so, yes, it cranks.
i pulled two different plugs and used two different kinds of coils to test for spark... bang! none.
no CEL codes... my conclusion is that my crank position sensor is bad.

so i have 3 questions now;
has any had a similar issue and how did u fix it?
is the CPS from a 2g dsm the same as the evo?
where can i find a write up on how to replace it? (i just want to see where the sensor end plugs into)

You probably have something grounded on some type of frame or metal...

I had the ignition fuse pop and I would replace it, but it will pop again after it would start...

The ground was the rear 02 sensor was sticking to far out of the exhasut(extender bung so it wouldn't throw a code) and was rubbing the frame... Problem fixed once I removed the extender bung

hope this helps

check with a scanner to see if you have any codes and if your crank sensor is reading, then go from there .

my fuse hasnt popped since i replaced it and my wires are good.
i hoping this would have been the problem cuz its an easy fix.

What did you do to solve your problem? I'm having the same problem right now and can't seem to figure it out.
