After installing my boost gauge I noticed that the "needle" was resting (below) the "return pin."
I've tried tapping, hitting, ... the gauge to make the needle rotate counter-clockwise (to correct itself and rest in the proper position - above the resting pin). Does anyone have any suggestions for me on how to fix the gauge (or) am I SOL and just need to return the gauge for an exchange?
Thanks in advance...

HAHA If it is what I think your "problem" is. Then I could assure you that's it's normal. When the car is running the needle is suppose to go below the "0". That's the vacuum reading.
If you're saying the needle is below the "0" when the car is not turned on. Then you probably dropped it and messed it up. Those gauges are very fragile. I'm not sure what you're talking about though, don't know if you meant when the car is on or off.
If your car is turned on and the needle went south and you thought it was broken, that's funny man
