Unlocks during a tune... Simple help please

Hey guys i am under the impression that when i get my 05 evo8 tuned that there are things that can be unlocked? i was told that during tuning i can have unlocked an anit-lag type program. were if i shift and hold the throttle like a flat shift that it will not rev up but instead cause almost like a two step or an anti-lag inbetween the shift. is this true? and does anyone have a video?

also i was reading a thread. is it true that you can also have a two-step added by the tune? any help would be greatly appreciated thank you all !!

Tuner can set your stationary rev limit to desired rpm. This is not antilag in any sense of the word really just a set rev limit when the car is standing still and throttle is floored

ok so that is like two step then. but what about the WOT Shifting? i was told if you flat shift it will not rev up to rev limiter but create almost a "missfire" type reaction and hold the RPMS untill you shift?

Yup NLTS can be patched into you ECU as well via stock ECU mods from Tephra. Look in the ECUFlash forum on here there is so much info your head can spin but basically using clutch switch as a trigger your telling ECU to cut rpm if certain variables are met.

Load, MPH and Throttle position. Plus telling it how many RPM to drop

im not gonna lie man You just lost me in so many ways haha. so using clutch switch your saying if i hold it to WOT and shift it will not move? and if at a dead stop they can set my RPM rev limiter to bounce off like 5500?

Sorry man

NLTS=NO LIFT TO SHIFT so yes you can keep the car WOT and when you clutch in you can set how many rpm you want to drop and stay there until you let the clutch completely out again.

Yes they will set the stationary rev limit to the rpm you desire

is it possible to set up the NLTS without having to re write all the maps? because tephra v7 has the big maps and i would like to only add the NLTS feature... not looking forward to playing around with my maps and trying to smooth them out because of the big maps now. anyone know if this can be done?

Yup just use an older Tephra mod rom pre V7. It still has Tephra mods knock cel, nlts, valet, etc... but has normal sized fuel and timing maps so yours will transfer over without issue.

Does your CEL flash with knock now? Not sure why any tuner would not at least enable that these days on any stock ecu EVO?

Yes because you will be under the load, speed, and TPS threasholds

If the car isn't tuned yet and your tuner is comfortable with V7 then that's what they will use. It seriously makes a difference in smoothing out the car and delivers way better driveabilty IMO

Tephra V7 is where its at, it is going to give you all the features you are talking about and then some, the only thing is that the tuner you use has to be familiar with Tephra and how to set it all up.

As far as unlocking things, there is no unlocking, just simply adding features or deactivating others like certain codes that are thrown and a constant nuisance but not of concern to a well running vehicle

NLTS your cutting rpm during shift no real harm there.

2 step your gonna create heat and can induce knock. Not something I would do every chance I got but you really aren't putting any load on the engine.

Launching the car on the other hand is where you start breaking stuff if your technique isn't up to snuff.

You Race, You Break, You Pay. Sure is fun though
