evo weight controll
So I am trying to figure out what it takes to get a evo IX MR under 3000 lbs, with full interior and preferably not making it noticeable that I am not stock. So far i am thinking; CF doors, CF trunk CF hood, CF front fenders, fly wheel, drive-shaft, brake rotors, remove the spare, light battery, exhaust, maybe lighter wheels and as stupid as it sounds I figure the AMS 2.3RR has to drop some weight even by virtue of the port and bore. Does any one have any ideas on this?
Well AC system is 52 lbs., front & rear crash bars. If you have the time you can open up the doors and remove the crash bars in them.. You have a good list of other parts like drive shaft, rotors, flywheel and the 2.3rr with removed bal shaft. Another one is lighter suspension. I remember picking up a robispec set, was suprised how much lighter over stock they were. Also light wheels. Another one if sound is not something your are concerned with. remove the heat shield on fire wall..both sides..the one in te cabin is pretty heavy. It felt about 15 lbs.
