Is it me or is the drivetrain movement making me miss 3ed?

Does anyone else have this problem? When i am just driving my 2003 around i have no problems slotting it into 3ed but when i floor it, going from 2ed to third makes 3ed gear hard to slot into. I have to let up the gas and then it goes in.

As a side note the car seems to vibrate back and forth when i give it some gas and then let-up, especially in 1st and 2ed. Is this normal? Should i get stiffer engine or tranny mounts?

Thanks for in help.

Could be a synchro issue perhaps? When you say it shakes in 1/2nd gear is that at low RPM's?

The movement sounds like worn motor mounts, how many miles are on the car?

Not getting into 3rd gear could be a number of things... syncro's, lockout... Is this high rpm shifting we're talking about?

No, its when the engine is under torque (mid range RPM's).

I'd try a motor mount first...

try adjusting your clutch first.... it's free. If that doesn't help, I would suggest motor mounts, it's still considerably cheaper then a clutch, and since yours isn't slipping yet, anything that might help firm up the jerking motion of the motor, on/off/on might help.

If it ends up being the clutch you can always decide to sell the motor mounts and spend the money doing a clutch if you don't like them anyways.

Is the front where it makes the most difference? What about transmission mounts and cam gear mounts? Are those worth considering or are they for higher HP applications?

I am full stock BTW.

none of that BS is going to help the lock out issue. its twin disc or deal with lock out. hopefully the syncros are not toasted already.
