Grounding ideas for relocated batteries?

Whats up EvoM.

I posting to see if anyone has done a DIY grounding kit for relocated batteries. I have my battery relocated to my trunk and would like to have better grounding. Any ideas or pointers to how I would?

Thanks

Mike

Reason for better ground? is there something wrong with the way you grounded it originally?

if you keep the ground wire as short as possible to a very good grounding point you should be free of any gremlins. where did you relocate the battery? where did you mount it? if it is in the right rear, use the threaded bolts in either the brace mounts or the fluid reservoir mounts; be sure to scrape away all paint, if you mounted it behind the passenger front seat, use the seat bracket bolt location or center console threaded holes near by, either of these are great places to ground, be sure to use large gauge and as short of a cable as possible.

Sorry if I wasn't clear in my post. What I mean is that you can purchase aftermarket or oem grounding kits, but since my battery is in my trunk, I cant exactly use the same grounding points for those kits. I'm looking for pointers for grounding spots and how to.

"ground is ground, the world round" if you use a multimeter and ohm out your grounds and they all read >1 ohm, you should be fine. those grounding kits don't do much of anything, if your factory grounds are in good condition.

shortest ground possible is what you want if you battery is in the trunk then ground it somewhere like the strut mount

i moved my battery to the trunk with the relocation kit. I removed the stock spare tire and mounted the box there. The screw that holds the spare tire down was a perfect ground. Just wire-wheel the paint away. You really dont want to go over a 36" piece of ground wire. Take the stock ground up front and find a clean spot on the frame to ground that too. Being the stock spare bolt mount is attached itll all work out perfectly. I can add some pictures of my setup later if youd like..

I grounded it onto my coilover/strut bar nut.
No problems at all

I would run it to the strut mount or somewhere similar. Keep it short and shouldn't have any issues.
