Do what I did. I bought a stock exhaust from a member on a local forum and put it on just to get inspected and then I put my aftermarket on. Things like that and front plate tickets are just things we have to deal with from time to time.

You should be fine putting on a stock exhaust for the inspection. When you put the after-market one back on use a high flow cat and add a resonator. That should keep the exhaust note a little more in control.

These exhaust tickets are stupid. When I had my Scion tC I had gotten pulled over a few times and asked about my exhaust. I had to argue my way out of a ticket each time because it was the factory option TRD exhaust. I have also asked those cops, probably didn't help my cause, how many times they've pulled over a Harley Davidson with straight pipes on an exhaust violation. I have yet to have any answer that they have.

Fix It Ticket? Man I never heard of that here in Louisiana. I know people that have gotten tickets for aftermarket parts but they are usually thrown out because it is so common now.

you should get a buschur exhaust with s magnaflow muffler. It's quiet when cruising so it doesn't attract attention but when you open it up it screams

Hey guys, I'm Randy's brother.

Pretty much like he said, I was driving normal, a county cop was in front of me then he decides to pull into a turning lane. Once I pass him, he gets behind me and within about 15 seconds puts his lights on.

For the record, I did NOT get a fix-it ticket. I only got a citation for my exhaust which DID cost me $70.

I'm in college full time and don't really want to be funding my county police officers salaries so what do you guys suggest for a more permanent fix?

I saw some of you suggest I run an o2 dump with a stock exhaust. My car currently has an o2 dump so that is a feasible option however I do have some quesitons:

1) Since my car was dynotuned WITH the 3'' DC sports full TBE, by installing the stocker without a retune won't that create a back-pressure problem possibly screwing with the tune? If my tune will still be in good shape with the stocker, then it would probably make the most sense to go that route. I just want your opinions before I make a move on something.

2) Not sure if you guys are aware but the DC sports full TBE is very big, and very obvious that any car with it installed is modified. That's the entire reason why I was pulled over, he saw a modified exhaust. I'd prefer to get a catback that is much more subtle.

Thanks guys, sorry for the book-long read....

Danny

Damn I love it down here in Tennessee/Georgia Ive ran around with an open downpipe for a week waiting on my catback with no issues haha... no emissions here

But back on topic, just what everyone else said just got a receipt saying you put the OEM exhaust back on the car or something along those lines and your good. Would really help if you knew someone that owned a shop that could just type it up for you.

MarylandEvo, as a MD resident, I know what you are going through. Since you already paid the citation, your main concern is not getting pulled over again for it. I'll answer your questions:

1. If you put the stock TBE on, you are going to run more rich, it won't hurt anything except gas mileage. Since a county cop pulled you over (not a Statie), rest assured, you're a target. There are a few options for a more stock looking exhaust, (Buschur w/ dual Magnaflows, Perrin stealth) but if your county is small you will probably get pulled over again.

Thanks a lot man..yeah I live in Anne Arundel County. My friend is a county cop and said that the guy that pulled me over and issued the citation is new and just trying to impress his upper management, go figure.

Any-who, I'm def interested in getting a different TBE, I'm not trying to get worse gas mileage since my car already is running 1000cc injectors and I average about 230 - 240 mpg on $30, which sucks. My car doesn't even need 1000cc injectors, it has the stock turbo still, but that's another story. I'm full time at UMBC and don't really have time to worry about it right now.

I'll look around for Buscher and Perrin Stealth.

Thanks for the help

Danny

In Washington cops will give you a Fix-It-Ticket and all you have to do put the stock one back on. I'm not sure how your court system is but judges will reduce or remove your ticket if you go to court and show them you have the stock one on the car again.

I would suggest a new exhaust. I have an RRE one ( socal shop) it has 2 full 3 inch resonators. After I got it tuned I only lost a little horsepower from my previous full 3 inch. Also try painting it black it helps when your exhaust isnt shiny etc.

I hate that Harley farting noise. I would rather listen to kids scream than that racket.
