I just got my Evo about 3 weeks ago now and after cleaning it and do a full detail with clay bar and what not to make sure the paint last me a little longer I noticed that my car has what looks like blue and purple flakes in it. I thought the car was Tarmac black but after seeing the flakes I don't know. The paint code I found was X42 and I tried looking up that code and got about 4 different colors and still confused as to what color the car is. Do anyone know more about this that could help me out?

 

the flakes are in my evo 8tb also.you can get your color code on your firewall on top.

 

On the b-pillar post (between the driver front and driver rear doors) there should be a sticker around the bottom that has the vin number on it. It will also have the paint code. Get the paint code and call your local dealer. Or just get your vin number and call the dealer. They should be able to pull up all the information. James

 

X42 is Tarmac Black Pearl, it's just the pearl you are seeing.
You'll notice the pearl more if the car is in the sun.

 

Thanks Tiradocc. I didn't remember the Tarmac black being in pearl so I was confused. About to buy a wing and wanted to make sure I had the right paint code.
