Evo IX MR without keys.

Hello,

It's my first post so I would like to say hello to everyone.

I've already bought an IX MR US Spec, but my car doesnt't have any keys. I would like to make another key in US before my car will arrive at the port in PL.

Could I make another key in Mitsubishi service in US. I know VIN number and I will have registration documents. Is there possibility that my friend will go to the service, give them VIN number and registration document and they will make another key to my car??

Do you know how much it cost in US??

Thank you for your help

In PL I've called Mitsubishi service and they would like to replace "half a car" to make another key as always

Rgds
Martin

I would like to make another key with VIN number, without a car and then in PL I will programme this key ( immobiliser etc. )

Is that possible?? It's only about making physically new key, because in PL Mitsubishi would like to change my all locks and I don't know how to say it in english ( place when you put the key to start a car, behind the sterring wheel ) and it cost much and I'm almost sure that it isn't necessary.

My friend did sth like that in US with Volvo key and there were no problem with that.

Thank's for helping me.

Do you know any email adress to Mitsubishi service in US?? I've tried but I found one I think it's not actual. I could write then to Mitsubishi service and they give me the answer, hopefully

Im not sure but I would imagine they can make a set of keys with the vin number, they may not be able to 100% but can cut it and maybe send you instructions on how to activate the key.

You would need to bring the car in to a mitsubishi dealer for them to cut you a new key with immobilizer and then have it programmed thru the car.

Bys musial przyniesc auto do dealera zeby ci utneli nowy klucz z immobilazerem i w tedy mogom zaprogramovac tobie go. Bez originalnego klucza nie morzes drugiego zaprogramowac przez auto. Spytam sie dealera jutro jak to dziala.

I would imagine u would need more than a VIN to get a key made. If its that easy im gonna get the VIN off the next Lambo I see and take it for a joy ride.

by law you have to take the car to the dealer to cut the key AND show paperwork that you are the proper owner of the car, meaning the car and you have to be there...

They make another key not from immobiliser but from the lock. I've bought car from insurance company so everything is ok within registration and other documents. They lost keys, it's often when you buy cars from insurance company.

Shape of the key is not a problem but I would like to do it without my car because in different way I should take another car to transport my Lancer to dealer and it doesn't make any sense.

As I said I think we could programme this key in Mitsubishi Service Poland, what I would like to do is to make here in US key because in PL Mitsubishi will replace all locks and other things from my car which cost much and I think is not necessary.

why??

Ok maybe it is difficult. Could you give me an email adress, Mitsubishi service in US where I could find answers for my question??

If it is not possible to make another key without a car I will do it in Mitsu Poland but I think that it's cheaper to do it in US.

i guarantee that you and the car need to be at the dealership for a new key to be cut.

dont need the car to cut a key but proof of owership and only the owner can get a cut key, as for the key need to be reprogramed and you will need to bring the car to the dealer so either way it has to make a trip to the dealer and only the owner can get a cut key.

I would bet $20 right now that this is one of the cars that was stolen from Chicago within the past few months. Just have a hunch.
