A/C Compressor Help

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy an 06 Evo Mr but the ac compressor doesn't work. I wonder if anyone on here have one replaced before and how much did it costed you. Also I see lot of them for sell on ebay...it says for the lancer but I doubt it's not the same for the Evo. Do you guys know any place where I can get one for a good price? Any advice will be very helpful.

man, on something like this, i would go through the dealer. Not knowing the price through the dealer though.

I doesn't look like it's tough to replace, other that evac and recharging the system you would have to have a shop do. probably a 100-150 charge for that. but i would tackle the compressor myself.

Evo compressor is diff than lancer. Get one In The part out section.

Bring it to a shop and have them evac, install, and recharge.

Good luck

finally someone gives me some info, thanks. I defintely do not want to bring it to dealer for service. They rip you off left and right. I saw that AWD Motorsport have one used in stock, wondering how much they would charged to get it installed. It's just hard to buy a used Evo because there always something you need to fix.

Thanks, I'm thinking of bringing to AWD to get it done. Do you know how much it would cost?? they have one used in stock also.

BTW---you need to change the reciever drier as well-- I bought used compressor off the forum here and 100-150---saved 100-150 because of that, Auto zone has free use of a vacuum pump. fyi. Worked for me.
