Oh shi*

Hey all i need a responce and help asap. First time owning a turbo car so this really caught my eye after removing the intake tube off. Yes the car has a intake but i do not know if its a K&N fliter. (they use oil) So here is a pic. In the intake part of the turbo then was some oil on it. Its not flodded with oil but still. Should there be any kinda oil there ever? Ive wiped it so far and im working on changing the clutch so im gonna watch it when she gets running again.

This is perfectly normal. If you want to have less oil in your intake tract I would look into a catch can setup.

haha... yea... there's a vent that goes from ur VC to ur Intake pipe that vents the vaporized oil from ur crank case (if im not mistaken)... so having oil in your intake pipe is nothing to worry about... but like MitsuJoe said... if u want less oil, a catch can would be the way to go... basically what it does is "catches" all the vaporized oil that has already condensed into liquid and keeps it in the can, while the rest of the vaporized oil flow through to ur pipe...

What i plan to do is drive it for like 500 miles and remove it and see how bad it is. If it looks something like this again i may do the oil can setup.

It's kinda normal as he said , but man, even at 200 K my turbo didn't look like that. And I don't have a catch can.

Get an inline catch can. Using a vented catch can may lead to excess crankcase pressure. The pre-turbo vent line helps keep a vacuum in the crankcase preventing oil from blowing through seals like valve cover gasket or valve seals.

Not really cause everyone pretty much does it wrong. Another one of those things that just cause the crowd does it doesnt mean its right.

Properly you should something like a 2 chamber can with the valve cover connect at the lower, and the intake connected to the top. The two chambers will be separated by a coelecence filter. Since Ive only seen one guy ever really make them (A guy on DSMTuners), the only other option is to get a can with a top/bottom configuration on the port and fill it with something like steel wool. The wool will help get the oil vapor out of the air. Its not perfect, but better than nothing..

If this is jiberish, sorry.. Im drunk
