My evo met a guardrail :(

So I was on my way to work today when I crashed my baby. I wasnt going fast but the pain I felt was tremendous. I love my evo and it felt like I destroyed it... has anyone else been through this... How did u feel? Im just happy I have full coverage. But I know it needs a front bumper passenger fender. A new hood (possibly can be fixed) the passenger rim got dismounted I dont know if its bent or not. I need a new headlight and the sideskirt popped off n looks like it rippled but im not sure

Well, if you've been looking at modifications and get a flexible adjuster, have them estimate for new OEM parts then get them to write you a check. OEM parts are so expensive and you can often take that cash and get aftermarket for close to the same or sometimes less. Turn a ****ty day into a good one! Could get a different front bumper cover, maybe some wider fenders, etc.

it sucks brO but think of it this way get a quote for all OEM parts, and u can easily find them on here for a good price and you'll have extra cash for upgrades or whatever u want and yeah first time i hit a curb cuz of black ice, that got me pissed i was down cuz it's my first car and my baby but that's why i learn from the mistakes and become better, of taking care of it.but good luck with it.

Parts are very expensive for these cars. Don't let the insurance company use Taiwan knock-offs. Insist on real Mitsubishi parts. You probably pay a lot of money for insurance each month and this is why. Make sure it gets fixed right.

It's a question of "When" not "If" so welcome to losing your accident virginity! As stated, don't let the ins company use knock offs and if you need any paint/body work done, select a shop that will work with you on it. Good Luck!

Sorry to hear that. It's actually YOUR choice of who fixes it. The insurance company can make suggestions but they cannot legally tell you who must fix your car.

To be clear though where your intentions to take the insurance money, buy aftermarket parts and then fix the damage yourself? If so that's not a very good idea.
