Underpanal fasteners

I had underpanal off before to install DP, rember what a pain it was. Getting ready to install ported EM, 02 dump, and intercooler piping. Could some one give me a complete run down on what fasteners to purchase for the underpanal or is there a kit available from a vender?

I was told if you DD then you should keep it on, but mine is so cut up it prob. is just the same as having it off I remember seeing a thread where someone had a site to get replacement clips that are MUCH easier to take off the the OEM ones. The ones that I always see at the parts store are too big or too small

I like having my undertray. Mitsu put it there for a bunch of very good reasons. you could also look into getting the beatrush piece. it's a lot easier to get off and on.

if you are not driving through floods, lots of dirt roads or mud there really is no need for that tray on a DD. I does keep the car more stable and high speeds and the engine bay generally cleaner but for the amount of times I have fought with that thing, it is not worth it. Plus when you upgrade your front mount it usually don't fit back on without some modifications.

you can eye-ball the plastic tabs and buy it from autozone i just recommend you contact russellm@mitsuparts.net to get all tabs you need for the undertray. you may end up wasting more time/gas money then you save by trial and error.

Thanks for the feed back, I'll try Mitsuparts as suggested. I also thought some one sold a kit that the fastners where eaiser to remove. Exactly as you guys said, I don't want to run around trying to find them and YES!!! the auto parts store never seem to have the right size. I do encounter a 100yd dirt road ( sucks) so I want the underpanel on. May try and make my own panel this winter, can anyone tell me what fastners the Beatrush uses? Mounting points?

Those damn clips always break on me. My entire undertray is held on by mostly zip ties. They actually work really well.

I'd rather keep the undertray on. One night I hit a piece of tire that blew out from a truck. It hit the front lip (my car is lowered) shot up under the car and totally destroyed the brake cooling channel on the left side of the undertray. I mean it ripped the thing clean off at the edges. A part of it was stuck wedged against the CV boot of my halfshaft. If I didn't have the undertray on.....I don't know what kind of damage that tire could've done to my car.

^ Simple yet brilliant, just cut off when removing underpanel and reattach with new zips.

I keep a pack of zip ties in my car at all times. Its extremely secure if you know where to put them on. No rattles or anything like that.

The only drawback is if something rips at your undertray. I once had an off-road excursion on the track and through some nasty ditches. They totally ripped all the clips out of one side of my undertray and it fell off. The clips were gone but the undertray was safe. With zipties I think it'd sooner rip the undertray than break.

Only if you invest in quick-release fasteners. The Beatrush is a pain in the *** to put on/take off with included bolts/fasteners. It really is great with quick-release (DZUS) fasteners though.

ROFL I hate that tray. I pulled it off the first time i was under there and left it off. Ive seen the aftermarket ones, but haven't heard any reviews on them. But checkers has the push in fasteners any kind will work.
