titanium exhaust question
titanium exhaust question
i recently got a ganador full titanium catback exhaust from japan, on the mid pipe is what appears to be a stainless resonator, upon installing it, i didnt like the sound coz its too quiet for my liking, it sounds just like the stock exhaust, so i was wondering if i could remove the resonator and install a stainless straight pipe instead? would it change the sound of the exhaust? and another dilema for me is would stainless steel and titanium be welded together? if so, what kind of weld should it be? a shop here says its weldable, i think they would tig weld it, but i just want to be sure and hear out what you guys think? i wouldnt want them to cut it up and find out later that they cant put it back together. thanks for the help.

I'm pretty sure there's not a stainless steel resonator in the middle of the Ti piping because you cannot weld the two materials together.
Everyone should pay attention when buying a JDM specific exhaust because of the JASMA sound restrictions. They tend to put either smaller piping or more resonators than companies that make exhausts for the US market.
